A 50 something crafter, I’ve now definitely entered my second childhood! My favourite themes are vintage and cute and my first loves are colouring and blog hopping.

I have been crafting all my life, knitting, sewing, cross stitch etc but around 8 years ago I discovered card making and have been addicted ever since.  I enjoy all aspects of crafting but at the moment love flowers, ribbon and bling!

I have been a crafter all my life, starting as a child with knitting, crochet and embroidery. I started making cards when I first got a pc but moved to papercrafting about four years ago. I retired at the end of 2000 and we moved to a beautiful part of Wales in 2003.

‘Being a Pisces I love to Create, Dream, Meditate, Paint, Travel, Write, and listen to all types of Music, but Crafting is my first love (along with everything purple).

Crafting since childhood (that’s a long time!) I am a retired Craft and Drama teacher who spends most of her time making cards these days, half the year in the Highlands of Scotland and the other half  in Bermuda – lucky me!! I also love to Direct, Produce and Stage Manage amateur productions for the Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society’.

My name is Kym and I am a wife and mum to two boys aged 17 and 13. I took up cardmaking in December 2004 by cutting up my previous years’ Christmas cards, sticking on a card and adding an embellishment. I cringe when I think back then and that I gave these kinds of cards to people!! In January 2005 I was in hospital for 7 weeks and then off sick a grand total of 11 months. It was during that time off I came across Dawn Bibby and her shows helped me through a difficult time. It also made me decide that all the cards I make I would give 50% of everything made to charity. I have come a long way card-wise since then and at the beginning of December I celebrated raising £1,000 for many different charities in 4 years by the selling of my cards. That was a highlight for me in 2009 and another one was that I actually got to meet Dawn Bibby in her shop when my husband took me away for my 40th birthday. It made the time away even more special. I so enjoy making my cards and enjoy taking part in challenges as I am always being taken away from my comfort zone. I look forward to seeing what creations fellow crafters make for the Crafty Ann’s Challenges.

I must have  inherited the need to ‘make things’ from my family. I used to do a lot of dressmaking and tailoring and a little bit of crochet and knitting.  I started making cards as a bit of fun for work colleagues, quite a few years ago now. I have also dabbled in oil and watercolour painting .

Since retiring, in 2003, cardmaking has really taken over and I am now a complete paper, ribbon and flower junkie.
